There are 7 donga rooms. Each one has a double bed and private ensuite, with shower, vanity and toilet. The donga rooms are perfect for couples and single travelers. They are air-conditioned and have a television. Please note these rooms are very popular and often book-out months in advance. The donga rooms are all located in the same area. They are not beachfront. To see the location of our donga rooms, download a copy of our Park Map here. They are serviced weekly (for long stays) or on departure.
As our guests, you’re welcome to make use of all of our facilities, which includes our camp kitchen, swimming pool, on-site café, coin laundry and local tour advice and booking service. Please note that Weipa can get very busy during peak seasons (May to August) and school holidays. Please read our Rules and Booking Conditions and FAQs before making a booking. Due to the high demand, we strongly encourage you to book prior to your travel, to avoid disappointment. We look forward to seeing you in Weipa.
Our donga rooms are perfect for couples and/or solo travellers on a budget. They have a double bed and ensuite. Sleeps a maximum of two (2). No kitchenette facilities: the camp kitchen is a short walk away.

Weipa Camping Ground is a great place to stay on your Cape York adventure. Our grassy grounds have established trees and are well maintained, giving guests a nice reprieve from the red dust of the Cape. We have a shaded swimming pool and café on-site for your enjoyment and convenience, and provide a tour booking and advice service. We highly recommend one of the scenic helicopter flights or heli fishing charters. Please note our donga rooms are in a shaded part of the grounds, they are not beachfront. If you’d prefer a beachfront location, then we have 4 fully self-contained villas, a beachfront lodge with 5 rooms and a communal living area and a limited number of unpowered camp sites. Please note we do get busy and strongly recommend pre-booking your stay with us, prior to travel.
Please be aware there is limited parking in the accommodation car parks, and generally there is only room for a car. For guests booking with large boats, trucks, trailers etc, please speak with reception to ensure discuss alternative parking options.
