Weipa Camping Ground has a range of accommodation options for those wanting a little bit of air-conditioning and modern amenities, without sacrificing on the all-important, location, location. Set on 13 acres of landscaped grounds, with established trees and absolute beachfront, Weipa Camping Ground provides panoramic views of the beautiful Albatross Bay and out to the sea beyond. All of our guests are welcome to use our swimming pool, camp kitchen and laundry facilities and those with kids, will appreciate the on-site playground.
Please note that Weipa, much like other destinations on Cape York Peninsula, can get very busy during peak seasons (May to August) and school holidays. Our range of villas, rooms and cabins often book-out months in advance. Due to the high demand, we strongly encourage you to book prior to your travel, to avoid disappointment.
The beachfront villas are our most exclusive and luxurious accommodation at Weipa Camping Ground. There are 4 standalone villas, each providing views over Albatross Bay. They are fully self-contained with kitchenette, ensuite, television, washing machine and dryer.

The beachfront lodge is a 2 story complex with 5 individual rooms, and shared living area. Each room has its own private ensuite, television, fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. Shared communal living area, including wide shaded deck with views over Albatross Bay. The beachfront lodge also has a chef’s kitchen with a private chef for hire.

There are 7 donga rooms, each with a double bed and private ensuite, which has a shower, vanity and toilet. The donga rooms are air-conditioned with a television and set back from the beach, amongst landscaped grounds. These rooms are perfect for couples and single travelers.

Weipa Camping Ground has a range of cabins at differing price points, with different facilities and bedding configurations. This includes Budget Cabins, Ensuite Cabins and Kitchen Cabins. The cabins are set back from the beach, amongst our landscaped grounds.

We have both beachfront and grassy camp sites, with lots of shady trees. The beachfront sites are unpowered, with additional powered and unpowered sites located across our grounds. Camping guests can enjoy our camp kitchen, amenities, laundry, swimming pool and playground.

We have a very limited supply of double donga rooms and caravan sites that can be booked / leased as permanent accommodation. This is subject to pre-approval and is only available through a Rental Tenancy Authority Agreement. Contact us for more information.

This includes amenity blocks, camp kitchen, laundry, swimming pool and even a playground for the kids. If you’d like a night off cooking, our on-site café Barramunchies serves up a tasty selection of meals including burgers, fish and chips and more – added bonus, it’s perfectly situated for you to enjoy the spectacular sunsets we have here in Weipa. Weipa Camping Ground is suitable for travelers of all ages and can provide advice and a booking service for local tours and attractions. Please note we do get busy and strongly recommend pre-booking your stay with us, prior to travel.
Please be aware there is limited parking in the accommodation car parks, and generally there is only room for a car. For guests booking with large boats, trucks, trailers etc, please speak with reception to ensure discuss alternative parking options.
